OCMAP is a computer software package that performs many of the conventional statistical analyses realted to epidemiological studies of mortality, particularly those among occupational groups.
MPDS is a large scale data storage and retrieval system that has been developed from detailed mortality tapes provided by EPA and NCHS. Specifically, MPDS contains more than 110 million records providing information on cause of death which can be categorized by sex, race, age, year, and geographic location. Populations at risk and death rates are also available.
*** NOTICE OCMAP and MPDS USERS ***
MPDS detailed mortality and population data are now available through 2005 and we are currently in the process of updating through 2006. The latest update includes the tenth revision of the ICDA. Please contact our office for more details or for information on how to order new or updated rates.
Both systems discussed in these pages were developed at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Biostatistics for biostatistical research. Any questions, comments or suggestions should be sent to Ada Youk.
